Despite recent cold weather anglers are finding windows of fishable weather. Tautogs are available on the ocean wrecks and should be available at the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. Specked trout and puppy drum action is picking inside the inlets. Topwater baits or popping corks baited with fresh shrimp, fresh cut bait or soft crabs will do the trick. Virginia’s rockfish season opened October 4th and will remain open until December 31st. Anglers are catching them around bridge pilings, piers and under lights at night..
